Alcaraz and Sinner to Train Inside Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium
Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and a host of other top tennis players are set to make an unprecedented appearance at the legendary home of world football. This exciting news emerges directly from Madrid, where the ATP Masters 1000 tournament will take place from April 22 to May 3. During the initial week of play, specifically between Thursday, April 23 and Thursday, April 30, participants will have the unique opportunity to practice on specially constructed tennis courts located within the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the revered home of Real Madrid.
The Bernabéu Transforms for Tennis
The decision to utilize the stadium for tennis training stems from Real Madrid's match schedule, which sees no fixtures planned during that particular week. Capitalizing on this availability, the organizers of the Mutua Madrid Open 2026 have arranged to transform a section of the famous football pitch into temporary tennis courts. This setup will allow players, including the world's top two, Alcaraz and Sinner, to prepare for the tournament in an extraordinary setting. A key factor facilitating this spectacular initiative is the close proximity of the official tournament accommodation, the Eurobuilding hotel, to the Bernabéu, offering convenient access for the majority of the athletes.
